James also made the Quidditch team as the seeker like his father. However many belive he was chosen out of Neopetism and Harry paid McGonagall in which she angryly denies this rumour and says that her and Potter have higher honour than that. He was Happy when his younger brother was sorted into Gryffindor,because he thought he would be a Slytherin, he would lose his little brother to Dark magic.
During Christmas he received a letter from his parents reporting that they knew that it was he who stole the Marauder's Map, but there were no consequences since it was an important holiday. Later James was part of the M Squad, in which aimed to spread chaos through Hogwarts.
In his third year, James made friends with Iola a fellow Gryffindor who shares his love for Quidditch. During a Quiddith match the Beater Edwin Montague out of spite delibratly hurls a Bludger in Albuses direction who is in the stands which breaks Albus's arm.
